Just kidding, everyone knows she's staying home and sheltering in place.  But, Wendy has a great smile, and that verse comes to mind with one little vowel change. ❤

Meet Wendy Engelking, of Wendy Engelking Design.  Wendy designed my logo, watermark, and my gorgeous new business cards.  She is excellent to work with, and I am happy to feature her on my blog.

How long have you been in graphic design, and when did you start your business?

I studied graphic design in college, and have been designing and loving it ever since. After many years of Graphic Design and Art Director positions, I decided to go out on my own in 2014, and started Wendy Engelking Design. 

What do you love most about being a graphic designer?

I love being creative every day.  Helping businesses build a strong brand, and produce materials that are strategic, while also aesthetically beautiful.

If you weren't a graphic designer, what would you be doing?

It would definitely be something creative:  Artist, photographer, interior designer, art teacher...

How do you spend your time when you are not working? 

I love painting, drawing, and photography.  I enjoy spending time watching movies and Netflix with my husband and daughter.  I love watching my daughter's softball games...  I hope to do that again soon!  I also walk and ride my bike for exercise.

Tell us something unique about living and working in Barrington?

We live in a neighborhood on the river, so summers are spent boating and relaxing with friends.  I have a number of local clients, so it's easy to pop by for a quick meeting.

What's your favorite lunch spot in town, and what's your favorite dish there?

I love the salmon at Francesca’s, and sushi at Shakou.

Where is your favorite place to shop in Barrington?

Angelina, for unique and fun cards, jewelry, and gifts. 

Would you give me three words that describe Barrington?

Quaint, friendly, and pretty.
