I met Hailey Rowe several years ago through Ms. Business, a local women's business group. Hailey is a marketing and sales strategist, coach, and LinkedIn lead generation service provider.
Hailey specializes in helping service-based businesses, particularly coaches and wellness professionals, with increasing their sales without social media overwhelm, building their audience, & improving their time management systems. She is smart, friendly, and a fantastic singer. I enjoyed learning more about her and I hope you will too.
Tell us about your professional background and your work as a marketing coach.
In 2010, I got my start in entrepreneurship and coaching by selling fitness DVDs at the age of 16… I’m an old soul! I received my bachelor's degree in Entrepreneurship from Loyola Marymount University.
After college, I worked in business development and marketing for startups. It made me realize that many business owners have a service they are passionate about but dread the sales & marketing side of getting their business off the ground.
I’m passionate about helping business owners make their impact by finding their stride with sales & marketing. My services are customized, but to give you an example of the types of things I work on with clients, I have a Framework called “Grow Your Business The F.A.S.T. Way:”
It stands for...
- Followers: We determine who you want to attract as clients & customize a marketing system that’s aligned with your strengths to bring in new leads every week, give value, & convert to clients.
- Action: We develop content, messaging, & calls to action that DRIVE your dream clients to TAKE ACTION!
- Sales: We get you selling your STANDOUT, NO BRAINER services & market in a way that helps address financial & other objections.
- Time Management: We shift you from “busy work” to smart work in a way that allows you to grow your business while still having time for your family & personal life
- Transformation: We help you embody the confident, resourceful entrepreneur you’ve always wanted to be & ensure that your offer is transformational & differentiated.
Are you working in the profession that you had in mind when you graduated high school?
Growing up, I thought I wanted to be a singer. My parents made a stage for my sister & me in our basement and we LOVED putting on shows singing to Spice Girls & Britney Spears. But when I realized what a hard life that would be to be a musician & the fact that I’d probably hate touring (I’m a homebody), I changed my mind. Entrepreneurship & coaching stood out to me because I am VERY intrinsically motivated & enjoy helping people expand their capacity of what they thought was possible.
What made you decide to start your own business as opposed to working for someone else?
After college, I thought I had hit the jackpot working in Business Development & Marketing at a wellness startup I loved! I put my own business goals on hold because I didn’t feel I was “ready” to start my own business FULL-TIME. Plus, my job was going into overtime hours & was incredibly fast paced. I was constantly getting assigned projects and goals I didn’t feel qualified for! Working there, I learned that no one is ever fully “ready” to have their own business, and the startup process is MESSY. I also learned that having a job wasn’t the “safe route” I thought it was. The company had to let everyone go in one day unexpectedly due to major delays in being able to launch. It was at that time I decided to start my own business. My dad always told me he wished he would’ve started his own business when he was younger. So, I took that as my sign in 2017 & never looked back.
What is most surprising about your industry?
A common surprise I see service providers facing is this: They think they can just put up their website and post on social media… and the business will come! But unfortunately, it doesn’t work like that. They realize they have to learn sales and marketing like it’s their job, because it IS if they are a solopreneur. I also think the coaching and consulting industry sometimes is misunderstood or gets a bad rep due to some bad eggs within the industry. Coaching and consulting can be incredibly transformational with the right mentors. The key is to find one that is right for you and your needs.
What have you tried that just didn’t work for you?
I don’t love doing high pressure quarterly launches. Sometimes I’ll do it in my own way, but I prefer to casually market my business year-round with non-complex methods. I also refuse to work under last minute pressure. I will never pull an all-nighter or violate my wellness too much for my business. I work very intentionally and hard, but the hustle 24/7 culture is not for me.
How do you unwind and relax, and what are your interests outside of work?
I love walks, podcasts, working out, singing in a wedding band, hanging out with family and friends, & lately— I’ve been finding top golf super fun!
Is there a cause that is important to you?
Our family friend has a rare muscular dystrophy condition called FSHD. So, I’ve been wanting to spread the word about FSHD Society & recently did their charity walk: https://www.fshdsociety.org/
What is a little-known fact or talent about yourself?
I am very good at estimating how long something will take. I drive my boyfriend crazy by saying we will get somewhere right at “4:12” or I’ll say I’ll be finished with a task in exactly 7 minutes. I also almost was on a TV show where singers would compete to be in the next K-Pop Group. I'm actually REALLY glad I didn’t make it because I don’t really desire to be in a K-Pop group, but I auditioned because my agent told me about it (many years ago).
What was your best purchase in the last year that was under $100.00?
Claude AI is a great purchase and my virtual assistant as well (but she is more than $100).
If you could have one superpower, what would it be and why?
I’d have to choose the power to make unlimited wishes!
Burst Mode– Quick and easy answers
Favorite cold drink? Nitro Cold Brew
Deep dish or thin crust? Thin
Favorite breakfast place? First Watch is always good
Are you a good dancer? Definitely not, but I do like to bust out some choreographed moves with my friends at weddings.
Comfy clothes or fashionable? I live in gym clothes, unless I’m singing at a wedding. Cocktail dress or gym clothes… nothing in between.
There’s not enough ____________ in the world. Family time!
