The village was-a-rockin this past Saturday!
After Barrington resident, Jay Istvan, attended a Porch Fest event in Boston, he had the idea to bring Porch Fest to Barrington!
We had free live music up & down Cook & Grove between Lake & Hillside, and the neighborhood was out enjoying it. Twelve beautiful porches played stage to a variety of musical artists. I live on Grove Ave, right in the middle of the festival, so my son and I took a stroll and enjoyed seeing friends and neighbors, and hearing fun music. The fest did not disappoint, and the residents that offered their porches also offered free beverages, including lemonade, beer, and wine. One resident also offered free pizza, and another resident brought in a food truck offering Mexican specialties! It's no surprise that local business owner, Anthony Lachus, is involved with this event. Anthony is a talented musician himself, and is the owner of Gray Wolf Records and Productions. Anthony produces the podcast that I host, the Barrington Area Banter.
Let's all hope that Barrington Porch Fest returns, and grows each year. I can truly say that this was my favorite event of the season in downtown Barrington!
